Following my recent comment about the deep gloom of our current society in 2020-2021, and in particular our political system, a friend asked me if I still had moments of happiness in my life!
The question took me by surprise and as I was leaving the gym I answered that I was only happy at the gym...
But the real answer is that I am happy during 90% of my life time, unlike in the past during my other lives.
The explanation is simple!
In the past, when I was younger (20-30 years old), I was "up for" everything: going to the theater or to a concert; galas and social events; restaurants; various professional and personal projects; dating out women by curiosity, etc.
However, I estimate that 90% of my activities ended up being a waste of time and went nowhere.
So in total, only 10% of my life activities were fruitful.
Today, and for the last ten years, I only do what I like 90% of the time and only impose on myself 10%, activities that I don't really like, but that I can't get around...
So I am happy 90% of the time in my life.
I should have applied this concept from a young age except that youth makes us believe that we can change the world, but it is an illusion.
I love the words of Mark Twain: "It is not what a man has that constitutes wealth. No - it is being satisfied with what one has, that constitutes wealth."
In conclusion, the secret to happiness is simple. All you have to do is choose what you do with the time of your life.
Good luck!
