ELECTIONS CANADA 2021 - MODERN ACADIANS

THE ACADIANS AND QUEBEC in 2021 -

The relationship between Acadia and Quebec has always been a difficult one, dating back as far as the time of the deportation in 1755. The Acadians of the time were torn between loyalty to the English occupying the Acadian territory and the French in Quebec. The English forbade the Acadians to move to Quebec and pushed the Acadians to sign a pact of loyalty to England, which many refused. 
In September 2021, one can think that the Liberal Party has replaced the English army and that Justin Trudeau did not see the rapprochement aimed at by Yves-François Blanchet of the Bloc Québécois in a positive light. One of the most politically powerful Acadians in Acadia is Dominique Leblanc, the son of Roméo Leblanc, a very close friend of Justin Trudeau! Roméo was like a brother to Pierre Elliott Trudeau. History is a wheel that turns...
