THE LORD OF THE RINGS IN MONTREAL -

THE LORD OF THE RINGS IN MONTREAL -
By Bernard Bujold -
The installation of "The Ring", valued at $5 million, which will turn Place Ville Marie into a kind of Lord of the Rings, has begun. The installation of the ring is expected to be completed by the end of June, just in time to welcome the summer season, but the illumination will not take place until next September.
Stay tuned!

MY READING FOR JUNE 2022

MY READING FOR JUNE 2022-
By Bernard Bujold -
I chose my bedtime book for June 2022: HERE'S THE DEAL by Kellyanne Conway.
This woman is the one responsible for making Donald Trump win in 2016.
Her autobiography is an inspirational book for all women; for political enthusiasts; and for Donald Trump fans of which I am one! Have a good reading!

CONSERVATIVE PARTY DEBATE IN FRENCH - REVIEW -

CONSERVATIVE PARTY DEBATE IN FRENCH - REVIEW -
By Bernard Bujold -
The Conservative Party debate of Wednesday night, May 25 - 2022, will have shown one conclusion: either Pierre Poilièvre will have to win the leadership race in the first round of voting; or Jean Charest or Patrick Brown will win. The political party is polarized and it will be the right or the left that wins, but it will be impossible to bring the two groups together.
It is also likely that the next Conservative leader will not be able to unseat Justin Trudeau. Poilièvre is too far to the right for the Canadian mind and Charest or Brown are too much copies of what Trudeau is offering.

THE LAWYERS AND THEIR BILLS

LAWYERS AND THEIR BILLS...
By Bernard Bujold -
Observers of legal news have learned about the bill of more than 1 million dollars in legal fees for the divorce of Pierre-Karl Péladeau against Julie Snyder. The bills for lawyers and notaries are difficult to manage and if there is one thing that is certain, it is that legal services are expensive and always higher than expected...
-I know a young woman who wants to divorce her husband, but her lawyer is asking her for 6,000$ as a deposit just to open a file...
-I have a friend who hired a notary for a simple transaction that was supposed to cost 1,000$, but it cost 5,000$ without any complication in the file...
-Personally, when I was divorced in 1995, I hired a young lawyer who had just graduated thinking that she would save me money. At her first session in front of the judge, she panicked to the point of breaking out in hives... My boss and friend, Pierre Péladeau, Pierre-Karl's father, generously offered me the services of his own lawyer and I was able to save my furniture. I wanted to refuse to pay the rookie lawyer, but like PKP, I was sued, in my case in small claims court, and I had to pay the incompetent lawyer.
If there is a conclusion, it is that you have to be rich to use the law, otherwise it is better not to get married and avoid conflicts...

THE CANADIAN PARLIAMENT AND THE PATRIOTS

THE CANADIAN PARLIAMENT AND THE PATRIOTS-
By Bernard Bujold -
If the Patriots' Rebellion of 1837-1838 went down in history as a moment of great courage for the French-speaking people of Quebec, the events of April 25, 1849 would highlight the contempt between the two peoples, the English-speaking and the French-speaking, when the Canadian Parliament in Montreal's Youville Square was burned to the ground by English-speaking rioters.
The revolt began when the government responsible for United Canada introduced a bill to compensate those who had suffered losses during the 1837-38 rebellion in Lower Canada, Francophones who were victims of reprisals by British soldiers and Anglophone militias.
Today in 2022, the site has become a park and archaeological site.

THE PATRIOTS IN 2022

THE PATRIOTS IN 2022-
By Bernard Bujold -
The revolt of the Patriots in 1837-38 is comparable to all other revolts in the world, whether it be the Ukraine in 2022, Acadia in 1755, or Haiti in 1800. A revolt is a war between peoples fighting for the same territory with a conqueror and a conquered. Jules Verne's novel, FAMILLE-SANS-NOM, tells the story of the revolt of the Quebec Patriots perfectly.

FRANCE, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, HAITI AND OTHERS...

FRANCE, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, HAITI AND OTHERS...
By Bernard Bujold -
We can compare what France did in Haiti in the 1800s to what Russia is doing in 2022 in Ukraine! We could also add the history of the Patriots (1837-1838) and the Deportation of the Acadians by England (1755).
Nothing changes in the behavior and history of humanity...

THE BOOK OF LIFE OF FRANCINE CHALOULT -

FRANCINE CHALOULT (1939-2022) -
By Bernard Bujold - I liked Francine Chaloult, but above all, I admired her efficiency! I was not a close friend, but I often met her in the community.
Death is always sad, but the lives of the people we know are a book and we must rejoice in the happiness of having read it!

FRANCINE CHALOULT (1939-2022) -

Francine Chaloult was the one who made René Angélil's wishes come true for his singer Céline. If René was the one to decide, it was Francine who made sure things happened!
Those were the good old days! The time of Celine and René, with Francine at their side...

A NIGHTMARE OF SPRING...

A NIGHTMARE OF SPRING...
By Bernard Bujold -
Last night, I dreamed that Justin Trudeau and I were walking together in the forest near a lake, chatting as if we were two very close friends. At the end of our walk, Justin offered me tickets to a show and told me I was going to enjoy it! He added that it was free and that he was offering them to me...
When I woke up, I remembered that I am anything but a Trudeau fan and the thought of him always makes me feel miserable.
I concluded that this kind of dream is what we call a nightmare!
