GOOGLE AND CANADIAN MEDIA

GOOGLE AND CANADIAN MEDIA-
By Bernard Bujold -
The $100 million agreement between Google and the Canadian government is equivalent to the stock market value of TVA (QUEBECOR). Clearly, Google's Christmas gift will not save all Canadian media. The mode of distribution should be managed by an organization to be created and independent. To be continued

MEDIA IN 2023 AND BEYOND...

MEDIA IN 2023 AND BEYOND...
By Bernard Bujold -
QUEBECOR's Pierre-Karl Péladeau's decision regarding TVA is not his invention... In fact, for several years now, major media outlets across the U.S. have been eliminating local journalism and centralizing it at their head offices. It is even predicted that before long, computers will be able to completely replace human journalism.

THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY IN AUTUMN 2023-

THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY IN AUTUMN 2023-
By Bernard Bujold -
Photography is in a state of flux, and artificial intelligence is at the heart of this transformation. You might think it's a return to its roots, since photography was inspired by painting and drawing. With artificial intelligence, the image once again becomes a drawing.
Cartier Bresson is an example of a painter turned photographer. Initially, he used photography as a memory aid for his paintings. He became famous for photography, but always identified himself as a painter until his death.
Photoshop is nothing more than a brush or pencil that draws an image. Artificial intelligence goes one step further by inventing images, but still based on the concept of electronic pixels - colors on a canvas!

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE 2023 TURMOIL -

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE 2023 TURMOIL -
The story of Sam Altman, the ejected CEO at OpenAI, is similar to the story of Steve Jobs at Apple. Both founders were fired by their own Board. OpenAI Investors keep pushing for Sam Altman’s return because the company’s future remains in serious jeopardy as the 700 workers threaten to quit and already got offers from Microsoft, a rival but also an investor in OpenAI in which the company put 13 billion$ for 49% of the share.

DINNER ON A SATURDAY NIGHT IN NOVEMBER 2023...

DINNER ON A SATURDAY NIGHT IN NOVEMBER 2023...
By Bernard Bujold -
It was one of those garlic pasta dinners last night, Saturday, November 18, and the discussion turned to the definition of rich people. The question was about their intelligence, whether it was superior or not.
I've known about twenty very wealthy people, ranging from Paul Desmarais, Pierre Péladeau, Jean Coutu, André Chagnon, Robert Campeau, and the like. None of them gave me the feeling that they were super-intelligent. Common sense, controlling their fears, dominating, and being aware of their weaknesses. They were also lucky at some point. The so-called "turning point". That's my assessment of rich people.
The rich man who impressed me the most was Paul Desmarais. A shy man, but very dominant.
The thing is, once you're rich, wealth increases by itself. The hardest thing is to get out of poverty. And all the rich people I've known started out poor...
Conclusion: if you're rich, enjoy it without questioning why you're lucky, and if you're poor, hang on to survive even if it's with a tin wire...
And never forget that everything is a passage and nothing is eternal in life!
The guests said they loved my legendary garlic pasta!
