ELECTION CANADA 2021 - ERIN O'TOOLE IS A PROUD QUEBECER

ERIN O'TOOLE IS A PROUD QUEBECER -
By Bernard Bujold -
Contrary to what many people believe, Erin O'Toole is not an Ontarian but a true Quebecer born in Sainte-Thérèse de Blainville north of Montreal because his father worked at the GM plant. The family moved to Ontario when Erin was 1 year old following a promotion of the father within GM...
O'Toole spent most of his childhood in Bowmanville, Ontario, and some in nearby Port Perry. His parents moved from the Montreal area when he was a year old so his father could get a promotion at GM's head office in Oshawa. "I had no command of the French language when I left," he jokes. His language skills are now reasonably good, although lacking the fluency of a Quebec politician like Brian Mulroney, who also has an English-Irish background like Erin.
On the other hand, Justin Trudeau is "officially" an Ontarian, unlike O'Toole. Despite Justin's fans, he was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario!
