ELIZABETH II - 1926-2022 -
By Bernard Bujold -
I have always loved the character of Elizabeth II and we had one thing in common: our love of horses!
I had the chance to photograph Elizabeth II once, it was on September 24, 1984, in Moncton during an official visit and Brian Mulroney had just been elected Prime Minister of Canada on September 4.
Elizabeth II was happy when she was surrounded by horses; she loved her dogs and even played with them in a Daniel Craig (James Bond) movie during the opening ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012; she took great pleasure in driving her Land Rover jeep herself; and she had a sense of humor...
Otherwise, her life was a job, a responsibility as a company president.
Her reign was spectacular and above all unique, 70 years! We can say without hesitation that she loved her company...
The departure of Elizabeth II is another character of my life and of my time that disappears. Since I was born, Elizabeth has been the Queen. You can't be happy about the end of an era, but as the English say: "It is what it is..." (C'est la vie!)
Dear Majesty, it was a pleasure to live in your time!
