History repeats itself and world leaders often find themselves on the same stage!
Daniel Lamarre was the great boss at the TVA television empire in Quebec before it was acquired by Quebecor and Pierre Karl Péladeau in 2000. The first decision by the new owner was to fire Daniel Lamarre, whom he did not like.
Lamarre had, however, quickly bounced back on his feet thanks to his friendship with Cirque du Soleil owner Guy Laliberté.
But now, in 2020, Guy is no longer there and Cirque is theoretically for sale at a discount because of its immense financial difficulties and one of its options is to tragically declare bankruptcy. Who would like to buy it? Pierre Karl Peladeau!
We can assume that if Péladeau were to become the owner, his first decision would be to get rid of the "big boss" Daniel Lamarre...
