THE HONESTY OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE…

THE HONESTY OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE…
By Bernard Bujold -
I recently lost a silver bracelet in my building’s gym, and despite an extensive search, I was unable to find it…
I had the idea of using artificial intelligence to research the dynamics surrounding lost items…
Any solid object (such as a silver bracelet) lost in a specific, enclosed location (such as a condo building) has a 99% probability of being found by someone within a maximum of 2 hours.
Now for the question: what is the probability that the bracelet will be returned to its owner?
The AI’s answer (in a building with about 200 residents) is 80%. It is statistically proven that 20% of the population in a residential building keeps lost items they find for themselves…
In other words, that is the percentage of people who would be thieves at heart!
I took my questioning further and asked the AI who is ultimately more honest: a human or a machine?
The answer: Artificial intelligence would be more honest than humans because machines have no emotions. For this reason, the machine would be more honest than humans because it is never influenced by the sentimentality of its emotions.
The machine is rigorous in its responses and actions, and one could say it is “incorruptible”…
