The U.S. State of the Union address was not an assessment, but a political speech. This was expected as we are just a few months away from the November 5, 2024 presidential election. The general election is likely to be bruising and torturous as the two candidates, Biden and Donald Trump, seek to convince a weary electorate that the alternative is even worse. Their differing visions are bigger than either candidate, showing a totally polarized nation. On top of that, according to a survey, 72% of Americans consider Joe Biden too old to be a candidate.
How was Biden's physical performance Thursday night?
From the Republican view, Biden's speech to the nation showed an angry old man yelling and coughing all over his speech…
For the Democrat, the Biden of the State of the Union was a new man full of new energy...
