The PANIER BLEU website, a platform created to promote Quebec merchants, was launched in 2020 at the height of the pandemic by the Minister of the Economy, Pierre Fitzgibbon, who claimed to be acting in a spirit of economic nationalism. The Legault government injected $22 million. 

Well, Le Devoir reveals in today's edition (Thursday, March 28, 2024) that in the year 2023, before the Panier bleu ceased operations, the Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et de l'Énergie, headed by Pierre Fitzgibbon, purchased nearly $12,000 worth of various products on Amazon, from merchants located in China... 

Le Panier bleu ceased operations last February due to low revenues, in a difficult economic context for the Quebec retail sector...

Indeed, one must remember that Trump launched his startup Truth Social platform after he was banned from Facebook and Twitter by Democrat supporters. And now the Truth Social is making him close to 5 billion richer because of his 60% ownership of the platform...

THE ART OF POLITICS...

To understand politics, you have to watch it like theater, and to observe it, you have to watch it like sport... All the great politicians were first and foremost great actors and champions in their battle against their opponents! 

A government has two identities. The first is to get elected, and that's where the actor is essential. Then comes the management of the state, where drama has no place if you want to be effective... 

The next provincial general election in Quebec is scheduled for October 5, 2026; in Ottawa, it could happen at any time, but no later than October 20, 2025; and at the municipal level, the next general election throughout Quebec is scheduled for November 2, 2025. 

A changing of the guard is foreseeable at all levels, but the most favored to survive is François Legault, because he has 2 1/2 years to change the debate while the others, with only 1 1/2 years, are at risk. 

As for my friend Donald Trump, he should probably return to the White House on November 5, 2024. Stay tuned!

CROSSING THE BRIDGE...

The Baltimore Bridge is reminiscent of Montreal's Jacques Cartier Bridge. Each has a metal structure supported by pillars in the center, with ship traffic underneath. 

The fate of the Baltimore Bridge is tragic! A ship struck one of the pillars, causing the entire bridge to collapse in a matter of seconds. 

I've often crossed the Jacques Cartier Bridge by car, and once by bicycle. I had the fright of my life as the bridge's steel structures vibrated so much. I've never crossed the bridge on a bike again, especially as I'm a terrible swimmer...
