One of the annual events that comes with spring is the feast of Easter.
For the 1.345 billion baptized Catholics in the world (the world population is 7.88 billion), Easter is symbolized by the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Personally, I am not believing in the biblical character of the son of God since my early adulthood, and in my opinion, Jesus was more of a political rebel who demanded justice for his people. His story has become a legend and the central theme of the Catholic Church.
I think that if we wanted to find a character like that in 2023, we could say that the leader in Ukraine, Zelinsky, is a kind of Jesus for his people and Putin is a kind of Julius Caesar for Russia. In fact, in reality, Putin is inspired by Caesar and sees Russia as a modern Roman empire. He also applies the violence that Caesar applied.
Closer to home, in the United States, many observers compare Donald Trump to Jesus, but less violent... Anyway, to all of you, Happy Easter 2023!
