BRIAN MULRONEY AND HIS VISION OF THE POLITICAL WORLD IN 2021

THE PASSING OF TIME...

I read with nostalgia the interview with Brian Mulroney that has just been published in POLICY- Canadian Politics and Public Policy magazine by editor L. Ian Macdonald. 

In short, according to Brian Mulroney, in politics as in life, everything needs the passage of time to be understood and appreciated... His philosophy, borrowed from Paul Desmarais Sr. : 

"Let the garden grow... " 

I was with Brian in 1984 in Ottawa. At that time, he and his young team wanted to change the world (Canada). We didn't really change the world, but we did improve some corners of the garden... 

Brian also comments in the interview on the current Canadian political situation in 2021, and the relationship with the United States, but in a non-partisan way.
