CROSSING THE BRIDGE...

The Baltimore Bridge is reminiscent of Montreal's Jacques Cartier Bridge. Each has a metal structure supported by pillars in the center, with ship traffic underneath.
The fate of the Baltimore Bridge is tragic! A ship struck one of the pillars, causing the entire bridge to collapse in a matter of seconds.
I've often crossed the Jacques Cartier Bridge by car, and once by bicycle. I had the fright of my life as the bridge's steel structures vibrated so much. I've never crossed the bridge on a bike again, especially as I'm a terrible swimmer...
