The army in Ukraine is like the Roman Legion under Caesar time.
Indeed the Roman Legion was made of peasants who also had to provide their own arms. Rich farmers could buy themselves horse and be in the cavalries but a poor soldier could only buy himself a simple sword.
The army was an obligatory conscription...
Today in Ukraine soldiers are coming from all ways of life but few are real soldiers.
