The story of the Patriots' rebellion is not an isolated one and it is directly related to the struggle of the American colonies to obtain their independence from England.
Moreover, the objective of the Quebec Patriots was to copy the Americans and to free themselves from the English, except that they failed due to a lack of military means.
The English were deeply afraid that the Patriots and Quebec would join forces with the Americans to become an American state, which almost became a reality and which would have granted independence to Quebec from the rest of English Canada.
Personally, on this Monday (May 24, 2021), the day of the Patriots' Day, I am going to read the fascinating work of Jules Verne "FAMILLE-SANS-NOM", a novel that deals with the struggle of the Patriots of 1837-38.
