PABLO RODRIGUEZ AND THE 5$ BET

PABLO RODRIGUEZ AND THE $5 BET...
By Bernard Bujold -
I bet $5 against Pablo Rodriguez winning the leadership of the Quebec Liberal Party by becoming a member of the party, so I could vote against him. In the end, you could say that I lost my $5, but it was like a 6/49 lottery ticket, and I had a lot of fun voting and watching the race. But I lost my vote...
Personally, I have no affinity or admiration for Pablo Rodriguez as a person, but hey, he won... His party will be at the center of the next election, with the Parti Québécois against François Legault's outgoing party, which is on the decline.
As far as I'm concerned, this is the end of my passion for the Quebec Liberal Party, but fortunately, the sun will continue to shine in the sky, and besides, I have a few other passions in life...

By Bernard Bujold -

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, will celebrate his 2025 birthday this Saturday June 14, 2025 with a spectacular and unique military parade set to bring thousands of important people to Washington, D.C., to mark the Army's 250th birthday which is also on June 14, the same day as President Donald Trump's 79th birthday…

The Army has estimated more than 6,000 soldiers will participate in the event, an all-day presentation that's expected to include fitness competition, festival, and parade complete with tanks and infantry vehicles, helicopter flyovers, and parachute jumps. The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. and is a part of a day of events that goes from 8:30 a.m. until around 10 p.m.

THE FUTURE OF THE QUEBEC LIBERAL PARTY

THE QUEBEC LIBERAL PARTY -
By Bernard Bujold -
It's voting week for members of the Quebec Liberal Party. Voting is taking place online all week, and the results will be announced on Saturday, June 14, in Quebec City before a gathering of members.
The choice of the new leader is a crucial one, as whoever is elected could become the next Prime Minister. It's a well-known fact that voters never vote for a candidate, but against someone. So, with François Legault's popularity plummeting, there's every reason to believe that the next Premier will be chosen between Paul-St-Pierre Plamondon of the Parti Québécois and the new leader of the Liberal Party.
Personally, my vote will depend on who the Liberal Party chooses. I would never vote for a leader like Pablo Rodriguez, even if I am a Liberal by nature and a member of the party…

THE DIVORCE

THE DIVORCE -

By Bernard Bujold-

The divorce is a painful ordeal not only for both spouses, but also for all the couple's friends. The separation between Donald Trump and Elon Musk is going to be a painful one.

I adore both characters, each for their unique qualities. Donald represents courage in the face of obstacles, and he never gives up. Elon is a genius, and what he has done with Twitter by creating GROK (artificial intelligence engine) is exceptional!

Will the divorce between Donald and Elon end with a reconciliation like the one between Asterix and Obelix in BIG FIGHT on NETFLIX? Maybe, because let's not forget that reality often surpasses fiction, and in 2025, the whole planet has become fiction...

THE SECRET OF OLD AGE

THE SECRET OF OLD AGE...
By Bernard Bujold -
There is growing scientific evidence that the human body can live longer if it is regularly challenged by physical exercise. The secret is to get moving!
I've been going to the gym since I was a teenager, and I enjoy working out to the sound of music. Recently, I've been listening to Bach's organ music. Strangely enough, you can dance to the organ...
A recent report in the Wall Street Journal explains that you can go to the gym at a very advanced age (90+). Of course, you don't train at the same pace at age 90 as you did at age 20...
The existential question: Is living to 100 the new norm in modern society?

FAREWELL TO A FRIEND

FAREWELL TO A FRIEND...
By Bernard Bujold -
I liked THE BAY stores!
But THE BAY no longer exists, like a friend who would have passed away...
We must live with the living and let the dead live with the dead...
We must continue our journey!
Canadian Tire is set to take over the brand, and I am told we'll be seeing many new products in The Bay colors. I'm even told that toy figurines will be available…
Farewell to THE BAY and rest in peace!
We'll miss you for the summer of 2025, but that's life...

THE BOOK OF THE SUMMER 2025

THE SUMMER 2025 BOOK -
By Bernard Bujold-

My book for the summer of 2025 (and late spring...) will be THE WARRIOR -Rafael Nadal.
This tennis champion has always been my favorite, because I was there in Montreal on August 14, 2005, when he became the champion in the final against André Agassi. It was the beginning of his career as a champion. I followed his career from that moment on and had the pleasure of photographing him several times in the years that followed during each of his visits to Montreal.
“VIVA RAFA"
Happy late spring...
