It's voting week for members of the Quebec Liberal Party. Voting is taking place online all week, and the results will be announced on Saturday, June 14, in Quebec City before a gathering of members.
The choice of the new leader is a crucial one, as whoever is elected could become the next Prime Minister. It's a well-known fact that voters never vote for a candidate, but against someone. So, with François Legault's popularity plummeting, there's every reason to believe that the next Premier will be chosen between Paul-St-Pierre Plamondon of the Parti Québécois and the new leader of the Liberal Party.
Personally, my vote will depend on who the Liberal Party chooses. I would never vote for a leader like Pablo Rodriguez, even if I am a Liberal by nature and a member of the party…
