The early favourite in the Quebec Liberal Party race, Pablo Rodriguez, now faces a significant last-minute opponent in Karl Blackburn, who could be a Quebec Mark Carney and come out the winner. Rodriguez is closely identified with Justin Trudeau, of whom he has been a close right-hand man, while Karl Blackburn is an inspiring politician with impressive political and professional experience, and many supporters among party members. The next Liberal leader will be elected on June 14 in Quebec City.
