I have always considered politics to be a sporting contest! We can say that Donald Trump is in a playoff and always ends up dominating the fierce opponent . In sports, it only takes one mistake to lose. 

The Democrats have made a serious blunder with the accusations that Donald Trump wanted to seize the steering wheel of the limousine on January 6 last and that he grabbed the driver by the throat... The U.S. Secret Service quickly denied this testimony and the whole credibility of the investigating committee was shattered. 

It is becoming increasingly clear that the Commission of Inquiry is a political effort on the part of the Democrats to reverse the momentum of the Republicans for the mid-term elections to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. During this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate will be contested.

Today, Tuesday 28 June, is my birthday, edition 2022! 

Thank you all for your good wishes! 

Every year I like to mark my birthday with a theme and this year it's a look at my life as I have published a collection of my life philosophies: THE OLD MAN, and I am recounting some of the adventures I have had, so far. 

I also recently discovered that a famous person was born like me on June 28, Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter). Elon is a creation of 1971 and his destiny has of course taken on a different scope, let's say, than that taken on by my destiny. To mark our common birth date, I gave myself Elon Musk's bedside book: THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS, a fiction by Robert A. Heinlein. 

Thanks again for the good wishes and let's never forget that life is a series of journeys!

 "Life is like a book with characters and actions and each person has a story... " 

 I wrote seven other texts about the adventures of my life between 1977 and 2021, the first ones in paper format, but all the texts are accessible in the bilingual internet collection on Google, in French and in English: A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO DIE. 

 I present here, in 2022, a new text which is a summary of my main thoughts on life and some anecdotes about my adventures: THE OLD MAN. This book is a sort of conclusion to my other texts in the collection. I wanted this book to be of its time and in this sense it is published exclusively on the digital platform of Google and free in PDF format. 

A book remains a text and its format must reach as many readers as possible. Virtual distribution gives access to an infinite number of readers. It is always possible to print the PDF on paper if you want an archival copy. I was inspired in my choice of the virtual platform by the major media, including The Wall Street Journal, of which I have been a daily reader since the age of 20. Here in Canada, the WSJ is no longer available in paper format since 2021, due to the coronavirus crisis. At first I was completely lost but after a few months I had forgotten how to read on paper and was a convert to virtual. Many other media around the world including La Presse in Montreal have also adopted virtual exclusivity and they all seem to be surviving well and better. 

 I dedicate this text to my two grandchildren, Ava and Emma, and to my two children, David-Bernard and Stéphanie.

The valiant Ulysses is very proud of his suggestion! Indeed, as early as Friday morning (June 24), when he saw the first races of the Montreal Triathlon 2022 invading the streets of Old Montreal, he convinced his master and friend to leave for the beach until Sunday evening... 

When we returned to the city on Sunday (June 26) around 8:00 pm, the trucks were loading the metal barriers and the streets were open again. 

Who said that the most pleasant part of the visit is when it leaves... 

Long live the "end" of the Montreal Triathlon 2022!

Sometimes it's better to laugh than to cry, otherwise we would be in tears too often... 

With all the traffic obstacles that Montrealers have to deal with due to construction and various holes in the roadways, Ulysse and I received a circular letter from the organizers of the 2022 Montreal Triathlon. 

In the letter, the organizers apologized for completely paralyzing the traffic in Old Montreal during the weekend of June 24-26 because of their event. Then in the next sentence, they said that to compensate for our inconvenience, they were inviting us to help them and become a volunteer in order to enjoy the weekend and our impeded circulation... 

Needless to say, I would not accept their invitation! 

As the English say, "It is not worth to fight as it is over our head. And as the English would add: "Let's go to the beach for the weekend..."
