MY BIRTHDAY 2021-

June 28, 2021 was my birthday.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes, and of course, a special thanks to my faithful Ulysse for a continuous inspiration...
This year, I gave myself a gift, from me to me, in the form of a photo book, one edition in French and one in English. It is not a photo guide, because I wrote the texts as if I were telling my personal story to my two children David - Bernard and Stephanie, and to my two granddaughters Ava and Emma, to whom I dedicated the book. I tell my impressions, anecdotes and my path in photography. The book has more than 340 pages and is illustrated with some 400 photos that I have chosen from my collection that I estimate to be more than 100,000 images taken since my adolescence.
I am offering the book to all of you, in PDF format as a free download at the web address mentioned on the hosting site.
I love photography which is my great passion in life but I also have other passions including sports. For 2021, I have marked my birthday at the gym because I love the atmosphere of sports training, a way of life that I have adopted since my teenage years. For me, the gym is a place where I can meditate and, after working out, read various media, including my favorite, The Wall Street Journal... I used to read paper newspapers, but now it's on the internet! I love reading!
This year, I also received as a gift a beautiful photo of my idol Donald Trump, a photo that I will frame and hang prominently in my living room and keep as a sort of icon! Thank you, Donald...
Let's never forget that the only thing that counts in life is love and photography is a way to immortalize and share that love.
Unfortunately, time passes too quickly! I sometimes think of good moments in life, or not so good, and in my mind it happened a few months ago while in reality it's already been a few years!
Fortunately, my philosophy is to live in the moment, with a slight look to the future. Let's wish each other nothing but good and beautiful for the journey ahead, drumbeat!

QUEBEC'S NATIONAL HOLIDAY 2021 - (PART 2)

QUEBEC NATIONAL DAY, 2021 - (PART 1)

Quebec National Day 2021 will be special and very exciting!
Even if there is no live music show in Montreal or Quebec City, most Quebecers will be celebrating like never before thanks to the Canadiens hockey team who will try to bring a victory to the Bell Centre that would lead the team directly to the Stanley Cup finals.
The game starts at 8pm and we can predict that the sunny day of this Thursday, June 24, 2021 will be filled with hope for thousands of Quebecers.
One sadness, we can pity the artists participating in the official St. John's Day show because it is scheduled at the same time...
This concert was recorded Tuesday outside the Manoir Richelieu in the Charlevoix region and it will be co-hosted by Charlotte Cardin, Coeur de pirate, Louis-Jean Cormier, Corneille, Samian and Sarahmée under the theme "Living the tightly woven Quebec. The two-hour event will bring together more than 200 artists and personalities, including Janette Bertrand, Robert Charlebois, the Trois Accords, Damien Robitaille, Guylaine Tanguay and Kim Thúy, the Orchestre symphonique de Québec and the Petits Chanteurs de Laval. The show will be broadcast on the four major networks Télé-Québec, ICI Radio-Canada, Noovo and TVA, as well as on Rythme FM radio starting at 8 p.m.
The hockey game will be broadcast live on TVA Sport 1, starting at 8 p.m. with the pre-game show at 7 p.m...

READINGS FOR THE SUMMER 2021

I just finished the second book of my trilogy for the summer of 2021.
I first read Jean-Louis Roy's excellent book on China, SHANGUAI 2040; and now I have just finished MEDITATIONS by Marcus Aurelius.
This work by Aurelius is a classic of philosophical literature but I had never read it.
In summary, we must live our lives in the present moment without feeling sorry for the past or worrying about the future because neither of these two times exist except the present moment. We must also accept tragedies or successes as natural events of life and never forget that they will quickly become memories and disappear into history. We must focus our life efforts on the events we can change and live the others as destiny. Finally, we must live our lives for ourselves and never for the approval of others around us. MEDITATIONS is a true guide to life.
I now have a third book to read, the biography of Robert Maxwell, a person I knew and even met three times with Pierre Péladeau, the founder of Quebecor.
I will tell you more about this book FALL - THE MYSTERY OF ROBERT MAXWELL, once I have finished reading it.

We could all use a steady, strong friend right now. We’re emotionally rocky crawling out of the pandemic—gripped by residual anxiety and sadness, stress about heading back out into the world, worries about once again becoming overwhelmed by a busy pace of life.
What we need is a tree "BEST FRIEND".

CEMETERIES IN 2021

Two or three times a year, when I go on the Internet
I discover someone I knew well and who died a few years ago...
During my childhood, my father listened to the radio every day: "Les Avis de Décès" . He learned about the deaths immediately after the event!
In spite of the exceptional advancement of our society on the technological level, the announcement of the deaths became very imprecise and a chance.
This Saturday morning, June 19, 2021, I learned of the death of a former colleague who died in November 2018...
Happy last Saturday of spring 2021 ;)
