2025 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS -

With the fall season every four years, in Quebec, municipal elections are held on the first Sunday in November in 1,100 municipalities across the province. The next elections are scheduled for November 2. Some 8,000 municipal elected positions will be filled, but to date, there are only 5,000 candidates... The nomination period runs until October 3, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
In 2021, voter turnout in Montreal was only 38.32% out of 1,100,000 registered voters. Given the public's lack of interest in the event, many observers are concerned that voter turnout in 2025 will be below 30%. To be continued!
