MEMORIES OF SOCIAL EVENTS...

Several people asked me, following the mention in my birthday message about social events, if I had at least a few good memories of certain past events...
One memory that often comes to mind is that of an inauguration where the guests rushed towards the waiters serving appetizers, even knocking some of them onto the floor! Chic people who claimed to have class ran towards the waiters as soon as they came out of the kitchen, as if these chic guests hadn't eaten in days... I will never forget these scenes, which were repeated at more than one event where the guests were always eager to serve the waiters, but rarely with as much intensity as at that famous evening...
It's the lack of seriousness at social events that is partly the reason I gave up 90% of my social engagements, even in the company of chic and famous people...
I prefer to feed the seagulls on the terrace of my favorite restaurant!
