JULY 14, 2025 - July 14 is France's national holiday! My ancestors were French and left Larochelle in 1690, where religious wars were raging, to settle in Port Royal (now Nova Scotia).
July 14 commemorates the storming of the Bastille in 1789, a decisive action in the abolition of the monarchy in France.
