THE WEALTH OF LIFE...

Someone asked me, following my birthday message on social media, why I am not more intimate in my communications and why I rarely talk about my personal life. Social media, like neighbors or people you meet on the street, are never places or moments for intimacy. And I have never been someone who likes to reveal everything about myself... Everyone should maintain a bubble around themselves, and in my opinion, a society without bubbles would be an even more unliveable “jungle” than it is now... Mystery, in the end, has a certain beauty, and discovering it is what makes life enjoyable and motivating! 

 Privacy is one of life's great wealth...

MY BIRTHDAY 2025

MY BIRTHDAY 2025-

 After a certain age, our birthday is no longer a cause for great celebration, but rather a countdown. Indeed, with old age, another year added to our age also means one less year of the time we have left... But hey, you have to enjoy every moment, and for me, a birthday is still an opportunity to celebrate with friends. 

 For my birthday on Saturday, June 28, 2025 (the same day as Elon Musk), I copied Taylor Swift's style and bought myself five friendship bracelets named after my five sources of inspiration. To complete the set, I also bought toy figurines of each of these five characters, and added figurines of my three mascots, and why not, one to my effigy... I've always loved figurines, and when I was a teenager in Gaspésie, I discovered photography by taking pictures of my figurines. My passion for toys is what keeps me young, even today at an old age... 

 Among the gifts I received: a magnificent pair of sunglasses for walks, and from my son, the autobiography of Giorgia Meloni, a woman I greatly admire and who, if I were younger and in another life, could have been my kind of lover. A gift from me to myself: a Paul Smith suit that I bought when La Baie stores closed... 

 With age, friends often ask me existential questions... 

 1. The greatest achievement of my life? My two children and my grandchildren. 

 2. Do I have regrets in my life? Yes: 90% of the thousands of social events I attended, most of which were ultimately a waste of time. Today, I only accept 10% of the invitations I receive, and I have become a happy man who no longer wastes his time.

 3. The greatest joy in my life? Having lived during the era of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Steve Jobs.

4. How do I want to die? Of a heart attack at my daily favorite place, the gym. 

 In the end, let's never forget that the most important feelings in life are love and friendship, and that everything else is just anecdotes. Obviously, we can't love everyone, nor can everyone love us! That's why when we discover love and friendship, we should rejoice and recognize our chance!

Robert Charlebois celebrates his 81st birthday today on June 25, 2025! 

You had to see him at last night's National Day show at Parc Maisonneuve on Tuesday, June 24, to witness Robert Charlebois's passion, energy, and voice on stage. He was far from looking like an 80-year-old man... 

There are several other forces of nature like Charlebois. Janette Bertrand remains active at the age of 100, as does Gilles Vigneault at 96. And of course, my friend, the sculptor Armand Vaillancourt, is still active in his artistic community at the age of 95... And what about Donald Trump, another fine example? Watching him in action, you would never guess he was a 79-year-old man. 

Long live the forces of nature!

Examining the history of World War II reveals the same dynamics in 2025 as in 1945, with Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin. In 2025, the parties involved are less united than they were during World War II, but there are still factions. The question is whether there will be a new Hitler in 2025... A dictator is like a tree. It starts out as a simple shrub (a young rebel protesting in the streets like Hitler) and ends up as a giant, dying tree (Hitler and the dictator he became before his suicide). For now, we need to keep an eye on Iran, but there are other candidates for the title... 
Fortunately, Donald Trump is a pacifist who doesn't like war! Perhaps one day we will find our planet peaceful again under a beautiful, radiant sun, but in what condition? That is the question!

The Canadian hockey fans need not be saddened by the Edmonton Oilers' defeat to the Florida Panthers in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final... Indeed, eight of the 24 Florida players are Canadian! Furthermore, the team's senior management includes two Quebecers: assistant coach Sylvain Lefebvre and team advisor and former goalkeeper Roberto Luongo. 
Ultimately, the Panthers' victory is also a victory for Canada and Quebec...

Donald Trump celebrated his 79th birthday on Saturday, June 14, with great fanfare and a huge military parade that also coincided with the 250th anniversary of the US Army. But why end the party? Donald decided to continue the festivities by visiting Canada, a country he loves and dreams of convincing to become the 51st state. Unfortunately for him and his dream, Canada is not charmed by the valiant and energetic suitor, and love does not seem to be in the air... 

In any case, happy birthday celebrations, dear Donald, and above all, enjoy your stay with us! 

Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive in Calgary at around 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. He is expected to remain in Canada until Tuesday, June 17.
