The war in Ukraine could eventually spread to Canada and Arctic if Vladimir Putin wins his current battle.
Indeed, economically, the Arctic territory belongs to 6 countries with land borders. It is the law of the sea that divides the territory and each of the six countries has the right to control up to 200 miles of its coast, which is equivalent to 370 km. The countries involved are Russia, the United States (through Alaska), Canada, Norway and Denmark (through Greenland). Russia has always claimed the territory for itself because it would like to exploit its natural resources.
