We can establish that at the present time (early April 2021) the chances are 50% 50% for each of the two main candidates for mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante the outgoing mayor, and Denis Coderre the mayor defeated in 2017 but that all experts predicted then winner.
To date in the 2021 campaign, neither candidate has taken the lead, but Coderre's book "RETROUVER MONTREAL" is so well done that one can only conclude that there is a solid team behind him. For one, Les Éditions La Presse (Fides) did him quite a favor by publishing such a book. It is not a biography, it is an electoral program and the design of the book is top of the line. There was even a committee of 8 people to write the texts, like an annual report.

NOTES- The editions La Presse have no more links with the news media. In October 2020, La Presse was acquired by Fides, a subsidiary of COOPSCO, a major player in the cooperative sector of college and university publishing and a division dedicated to the general readership.
