I've been an admirer of CBC since my early days in journalism in the early 1980s when my idol was Bernard Derome and CBC / Radio-Canada was at the top of the pyramid.
The fall budget cuts (December 4, 2023) are painful, but even more painful are the hints that Radio-Canada executives may be receiving financial bonuses as 800 jobs are eliminated...
If bonuses are indeed paid, the executives could be compared to the ship's officers who would flee with the ship's booty before it sinks to the bottom of the ocean with its crew of sailors!
