The next general elections in Quebec will be those of the student struggle against rising tuition fees. But the real question is: "What would happen if students established their own political party and the leaders of the student party were also the leaders movement?
We saw with the 2011 federal election victory in Quebec of Jack Layton that "sometimes the impossible is possible"!
Currently in Quebec, there is a cleavage between students supporters and supporters of the Liberal Party. The problem is that the real Jean Charest's political opponents, the students, are not officially in the running and none of the political parties that will face Jean Charest in the elections are really the representatives and defenders of the student option . We may therefore have a return to square one at the next election with the votes split between conventional political parties and probably a return to power of the Liberal government.
Some say that students are too young by 15 years to be state leaders but "What If they were running for Office." Suffice it to say that one of the most successful project in our society is precisely the work of people in their twenties: Facebook with Mark Zuckerberg as a leader. This make us to understand that youth is not an obstacle for outstanding achievements. On the political front, Jack Layton has shown that the impossible dream can become a reality.
What would happen if ...
Stay tuned!
