We can say that we are currently living a complete transformation of the world history... 

Indeed, since 1990, we have experienced the growth of the Internet (Google-Facebook-Apple iPhone) which has totally transformed our entire civilization; we have experienced the world crisis of COVID which began in November 2019 in China; and since February 24, 2022, we are experiencing the development of the Third World War in Ukraine. 

This is without including all the societal movements ranging from METOO, MAGA, etc. 

Long live the world and our historical era!

FALL 2022 - LIFE, LOVE AND DEATH

FALL 2022 AND LIVING WITH THE LIVING...

The season of fall 2022 has brought to date, with the fall colors, a good number of departures of several friends or acquaintances. 

Among two of the closest, there is my next-door neighbor, and the founder of Videotron André Chagnon. The comfort in these two departures is however that they were over 90 years old... 

Personally, I am always sad when I learn of the departure of people close to me, but I also forget very quickly because I like to think that I live with the living, and that I let the dead live with the dead. 

In fact, there are two events I never attend: funerals and weddings! For me, death and love are personal and intimate affairs that don't have to become public events!

When Vlademir Putin invaded Ukraine on February 24, it was obvious that Joe Biden's United States was Zelinsky's ally against Russia and that the Americans were getting involved in a local political dispute between Russia and Ukraine. 

I predicted at the time, as did many others, that U.S. support for Ukraine would lead to World War III. The recent attacks show that civilization is definitely in a world war, as in 1940-45 with Hitler. 

In 2022, no one can predict how the conflict will end. When a war escalates, the end is always unpredictable!

THE AUTUMN OF POLITICS- US MIDTERMS 2022-

In the next few weeks, politics fans will be able to watch their passion with real politics, the American one! Indeed, we are less than a month away from November 8, 2022, date of the American midterms elections. 

In this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate will be contested. While some found the recent Quebec election violent on a human level, it is nothing compared to the Americans... 

Observers predict a Republican return to power, but in a polarization between two groups, anything is possible at the finish line. It is also expected that Donald Trump's future will be influenced by the outcome of the midterms, whether or not he returns for 2024. 

Ulysse and I are ready!

François Legault was elected Premier of Quebec on Monday, October 3, with a total of 90 MNAs out of a potential 125. Ulysse and I expected a stronger majority, but the victory is clear and unquestionable. 

The champion has retained his title!

ELECTION 2022 - VOTING DAY -

We have finally arrived at October 3, 2022, provincial voting day in Quebec!  

For me, and Ulysse, an election is like a day of celebration, a day where the spirit of sportsmanship meets that of rallying. 

Will I win my vote? One can say both yes and no... 

My "champion" is guaranteed to win the competition hands down at the provincial level and to be Premier, but my riding MP, who is also guaranteed to win (Old Montreal - Ste Marie St Jacques), is anything but the one I voted for and with whom I do not share the same values in life! 

The problem with elections is that the election campaign is a more or less serious adventure, but the consequences are! 

Good vote!

It is customary in sports to project the winner and the magnitude of his victory. Since politics is the ultimate sport (it would be naive to consider politics as serious), I played the game and here are my projections for the October 3, 2022 election. 

I'm basing this on the fact that the election is leader-driven and no party has played the team card. 

Obviously, I could be wrong, but as it is sport, I will survive, to the victory of my champion as well as to my potential failure as a platform manager with his projections... 

FRANÇOIS LEGAULT (CAQ): 108 MPS; 

DOMINIQUE ANGLADE (LIB): 6 MPS; 

GABRIEL NADEAU-DUBOIS (QS): 8 MNAS;

PAUL ST-PIERRE PLAMONDON (PQ): 3 MNAS;

Who would have thought it? Candidates are stealing from each other the advertising flyers placed in the mailboxes! 

The plot was first revealed by a voter who filmed the candidate of Québec solidaire in Camille-Laurin, Marie-Eve Rancourt, lawyer and holder of a master's degree in international law and politics, while she was stealing from a mailbox a leaflet of the leader of the Parti Québécois to replace it with her own... 

This morning we learn that the Parti Québec was doing the same thing with the CAQ's flyers in another riding... 

Fortunately, Ulysse and I are on the lookout and we are watching our mailbox very carefully! Happy voting on October 3rd!
