As the Rolling Stones are putting out their first all-original album in 18 years, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL MAGAZINE asked Mick Jagger (80 years old) how he has kept the Rolling Stones in business for six decades!

JUSTIN TRUDEAU IN 2023

JUSTIN TRUDEAU IN 2023 -
By Bernard Bujold-
After a political chill with China and a direct diplomatic break with India, Justin Trudeau's government is now faced with a new scandal, that of Nazis from the Hitler era... A former Nazi soldier from a Ukrainian unit was given a standing ovation in Ottawa to greet Zelinsky's visit to the House of Commons on Friday, September 22, 2023. Jewish communities are demanding a public apology from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau!

THE AUTUMN 2023 SEASON: MEDIA, FACEBOOK AND PHOTOSHOP -

THE AUTUMN 2023 SEASON: MEDIA, FACEBOOK AND PHOTOSHOP -
By Bernard Bujold -
The new Autumn 2023 season is well underway, and there are a number of changes in store. Firstly, in the media, as my inspiration in terms of newspaper owners will retire. Rupert Murdoch is giving way to his son. I've always had great admiration for Murdoch and have been a loyal reader of the Wall Street Journal since 1977. Another fall change is META (Facebook), which no longer allows media to promote their articles. Personally, this hasn't changed my habits, as there are several techniques for continuing to share press articles on Facebook... Finally, with autumn also comes the annual Photoshop update. This year's is exceptional, not to say magical!
Happy Autumn 2023.

SUMMER 2023 - THE SEASON OF BOOKS...

SUMMER 2023 - THE SEASON OF BOOKS...
By Bernard Bujold -
As the summer of 2023 draws to a close, it's fair to say that it's been the season of books for me! Indeed, I took advantage of the summer to publish my book THE JOURNALIST, in June, and then in July and August to transform several of the books I've written over the years into PDF format.
I've written over a dozen books since 1978, many of them in digital format. In my opinion, a paper book is as mortal as the rest of us, whereas a digital book is, so to speak, eternal.
The transformation of eight of my books into PDF format, in French and English, has enabled me to deposit them with the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec. This means they will be available for free reading in the catalog of the Grande Bibliothèque. You can also access them on my website and download the PDFs.
There was a time when I used to visit the Grande Bibliothèque on a weekly basis, but now I prefer to visit it via the Internet.
Have a great end of summer!

THE SURVIVAL OF INDIGO BOOKS -

THE SURVIVAL OF INDIGO BOOKS -
By Bernard Bujold
The Indigo book chain has a 40% chance of bankruptcy... Such an event would be a tragedy for the Canadian book industry. Now with the fall season starting next Saturday (September 23, 2023) in an attempt to turn things around, former president and founder Heather Reisman is returning to the helm.

We wish her every success in the face of difficult obstacles! To be continued...

A DETECTIVE STORY IN OLD MONTREAL-

A DETECTIVE STORY IN OLD MONTREAL-
By Bernard Bujold -
It's like a real whodunit set in Old Montreal, as the story takes such incredible and mysterious turns.
The novel begins with a tragic fire in which 7 people are killed; then immediately there are accusations of negligence against the owner; then the discovery of a criminal who is said to have started the fire with gasoline; then we learn that the municipal authorities refused to allow the owner to transform his building to make it safe, as it was classified as historic; finally, the firefighters wouldn't listen to the owner on the morning of the fire, forbidding him to approach the firefighters to inform them that people were trapped inside.
Normally, the conclusion would reveal who started the fire and why. If this were a Louise Penny novel, we might have a riddle like the criminal who started the fire was a firefighter who wanted to make Mayor Valérie Plante look bad for her political decisions regarding municipal employees.
The easiest and most logical solution would simply be a mafioso (street gang) who wanted to warn the building's owner, but in crime novels, the culprit and motive are always unbelievable and the opposite of logical...

THE SUCCESS OF META...

THE SUCCESS OF META...
By Bernard Bujold -
I've always had a lot of admiration for Mark Zuckerberg. He succeeded with his project, whereas mine (LeStudio1) failed, even though we started our project at the same time, in 2004-2005. I admire people who succeed in their projects. In fact, Mark Zuckerberg has more than succeeded in his project, he has changed the world, which is no mean feat!
Facebook is an entertainment concept, like cinema, television, or radio. The idea is to enable subscribers to communicate with each other and be entertained. Governments and conventional media are crying foul that Meta is getting out of the news business. Facebook has never been a news medium as such, but a game. You can turn a game into a tool, and that's what the mainstream media have done by using Facebook to promote and disseminate their information. It's fair to say that they'll now have to find a new toy...
In conclusion, as far as I'm concerned, I admire Mark for his entrepreneurial genius; Ulysse is very fond of Mark, who loves dogs; and I'm told that Mark found the last chapter of my book THE JOURNALIST amusing and that he agrees with my prediction!
To be continued... Happy end of summer 2023!
