CONDO SOLD!
By Bernard Bujold-
The luxurious condo of Pauline Marois and Claude Blanchet in Old Montreal was sold at a good price for $ 4.6 million to a wealthy American doctor, more than $ 2.1 million above the price of 2.5 $ million that the couple had paid five years ago in April 2013.
The condo had been put on sale in late summer 2018 for $ 4.9 million.
"They [Ms. Marois and Mr. Blanchet] appreciated the property, but they decided to move and build something else, I guess ...", commented briefly the real estate broker in charge of the file at Sotheby's, Liza Kaufman.
For gossip lovers, the question is: who is the rich doctor?
The sumptuous condo would serve as a "pied-à-terre" for the American buyer in the metropolis. "He likes the lifestyle, and he sees [economic] potential in the city as well," said broker Kaufman, adding that the $ 4.6 million represents little for the doctor. "For this kind of buyer, it's not a big expense," she said.
