Canada Day 2012 - The future of the country

Canada Day is an annual event that recalls the creation of Canadian Confederation by the Act of the British North America, which took effect on 1 July 1867. The status was changed after the repatriation of the Constitution of Canada on October 27, 1982. 
Canadians are much less nationalistic than are the citizens of several other countries including the United States. However, Canada is becoming more important with respect to the rest of the world particularly in economic terms. On the political front, we can also rejoice at the situation. While many people criticize the management of the Conservative government of Stephen Harper in place, one must admit that there are interesting alternatives for the future whatsoever with the NDP of Thomas Mulcair or the Liberals with a possible Justin Trudeau. 
Unfortunately, this is not the case in Quebec where many compares the situation to that of some African countries in revolt... Worse, there is no real momentum about the replacement options. People criticized Prime Minister Jean Charest but they do not really want to support the candidates running to replace either the PQ or the other political parties. Finally, in Quebec we do not know which direction to take for the future and when we do not know where to go, it goes nowhere... 
In this sense, Canada is full of promise! Happy Canada Day to all!
