One of my many memories of my father is a game of golf we played in 1975 in Sept-Îles. It was a year before he died in 1976... 

The sport never became a passion for me after that. Perhaps because of my father's death! 

In any case, after a time of decline, the sport of golf is said to be enjoying a resurgence in popularity. In 2024, it seems that between two job applicants, companies will choose the one who plays golf...

I'm a big fan of American TV series broadcast on CBS, Paramount+, Netflix, and so on. One of my favorite series is SEAL TEAM formerly on CBS and now on Paramount+. 
But I have to admit that reality surpasses fiction... 
The Israeli army rescued (Saturday, June 8, 2024) four hostages held in Palestine by Hamas. The recovery process is totally identical to that of the TV series Seal Team... The only difference is that the Israeli commando operation killed 200 Palestinians to rescue the 4 hostages. The conclusion is that reality is more violent than fiction...

The Grand Champion of the 2024 Canadian F1 Grand Prix will be a woman, and her name is Sandra Ferreira... Indeed, her message posted on Instagram on Friday, June 7, concerning the closure of restaurant terraces on Peel Street in Montreal by the fire safety department has gone viral and provoked a feeling of revolt, but also admiration for Sandra's courage. 
 Personally, the Ferreira restaurant has always been my favorite in Montreal. Its founder Carlos Ferreira and I are the same age, and I've always admired his life path. I first noticed his daughter Sandra a few years ago, in 2016, when she and her father launched the chicken restaurant CAMPOS. Those who know Sandra, a mother of two, say she's always positive and hard-working. She also has a social conscience and is very concerned about society. 
I don't know if she's interested in politics, but seeing how the public reacted to her message against the closing of terraces, I think she's got what it takes to run and win a race for mayor of Montreal in November 2025 and replace Valérie Plante! It would be quite a feat for her, the daughter of an immigrant who arrived from Portugal in 1975, to become mayor of her father's hometown.

There was a time when I frequented the F1 Grand Prix of Canada in the days of Normand Legault, Micheal Schumacher, and Jacques Villeneuve. After they left, I gave up! The main reason is the crowds. I hate crowds and complicated access... 
Of course, I like racing cars and love going for a spin in a sports car. But no F1 Grand Prix! And what's more, rain is forecast for the race on Sunday, June 9, 2024!
