The city of Montreal is in flames...

One solution for the city of Montreal: we must find a JOHN WAYNE to save the town from the bandits? 
The situation is very critical and no serious solution in sight because, unfortunately, there is no lone cowboy coming to save citizens... The November elections may be very disappointing as currently none of the potential candidates is up to the challenge! 
There should be a candidate of the caliber of Serge Ménard to head the city of Montreal. Is he interested? That is the question? So far, a dozen serious candidates were approached from Gaétan Frigon, Lise Bissonnette to Gilbert Rozon but no one has agreed to run for mayor.

SUPERMAN is in town...

Superman is in town. The superhero visited his friend Bernard Bujold of LeStudio1.com and invited him to a fly in the sky of Montreal... 
Superman is celebrating in 2013 its 75th anniversary of creation. One of the co-authors of this character, Joe Shuster, is a Canadian born in Toronto. The other author is Jerry Siegel.

DAN BROWN INFERNO - REVIEW

I just finished reading the new novel by Dan Brown INFERNO. A very entertaining book that approximates an action film in the James Bond style. Over 104 short chapters but all very exciting with engaging characters. 
Dan Brown has chosen to base his story in Florence Italy but carrying the conclusion to Istanbul in Turkey, a few blocks from the famous Taksim park which currently held the murderous events that we know. In INFERNO novel, there is a threat of doom much like the one of September 11, 2001 in New York and the survival of the world is in danger. 
In a way, Brown was visionary by choosing Istanbul, a historic city with between 13 and 16 million people. Hope that the conclusion of real Istanbul clashes experience the same outcome as the fictional story of Dan Brown. 
The novel Inferno is no comparison to The Da Vinci Code, but it remains a pleasant entertainment for those who love history, travel and suspense. Happy reading!

GRAND PRIX F1 OF CANADA 2013

The Grand Prix F1 of Canada 2013 is now over and they packed tents and other party accessories. 
Is the event worth the financial cost? It seems that the economic benefits are nowhere near the $100 million advanced by organizers but around only $ 32million from a precise accounting study... According to me, everything has an end and you have to renew. Personally, I prefer more human sports like tennis, which are much less expensive to organize and a lot more beneficial for many in the whole community. That said, I offer my condolences to the family of the technician crushed fatally by crane after the end of the race. This accident should never have happened!

ROLAND GARROS 2013 - RAFAEL NADAL

RAFAEL NADAL won his eighth championship tournament at Roland Garros 2013 edition. The champion also celebrated his 27th birthday during the Paris tournament (3 June 2013). 
I watch Rafa's career since his debut when he was only 17 years and I had the chance to meet him and take pictures of him several times during his visits to Montreal. I love the champion who is always extremely kind outside competition. Indeed, Nadal is a different man when playing a sport. He plays to win! 
Congratulations Rafa and long continuity! "Rafa will Enhorabuena continuidad larga!" 
A highlight of the final was the protesters who demanded the resignation of the President of France. The champion Nadal had to be temporarily protected by security guards...

MISS FOXY is moving...

GRAND PRIX F1 OF CANADA 2013

The Grand Prix F1 of Canada 2013 will be held in Montreal from June 7 to 9. This event is one of the most prestigious presented in Montreal. I've long been a fan of the circuit, but what I like now is to run out of season on the race track with my bicycle or in a private car. 
This activity has several advantages: less noise; ease of access to the site; and inexpensive (free...). I'm not the only one to have this passion and you can see many Montrealers enjoying a walk on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. 
Here is a photo report of a visit to this race track a few days before the real competition.

The Beach at Old Port of Montreal is open for the Season 2013

The Beach at Old Port of Montreal has officially opened its doors during the last weekend (1st and 2nd June 2013). One might call this beach "Millionaire" as the development costs that were displayed were at 3, 400, 000 $. In all, the redevelopment of the area around the Clock Tower totaled nearly $ 10 million. The beach is interesting but the marketing has completely missed the target last year. Bad weather or bad marketing? For the 2013 season, it was decided to make the access free. Requesting an entry fee of $ 6 was nonsense because there are too many free offers in the Old Port of Montreal for the public to accept a paid activity that provides only garden chairs and a look at the river. 
Personally, I like to go read my newspaper on Sunday afternoon on this terrace, especially if it's free...
