Spring cleaning in politics from Frank Zampino to Jean Charest

The former number two of the administration of the City of Montreal Frank Zampino was arrested this morning Thursday May 17,  (6:00 am) by the squad embezzlement.
The provincial Liberal government has reason to worry because the Charbonneau investigation on Quebec construction could have the same consequences as the Gomery inquiry at the federal level. For the Quebec Liberal Party, the situation is sensitive because their majority is 63 against 59 and three seats are vacant. Elections are required to be held before September 8, 2013. Zampino's arrest could be the beginning of the collapse of political power in Quebec as was the sponsorship scandal in Ottawa. The squad "Hammer" is the precursor of the Commission Charbonneau.
Students would be well advised to form a party and it could become the official opposition, perhaps even be the government as the ADQ had almost been in 2007 with 41 members of the ADQ and leader Mario Dumont. A scenario repeated in 2011 by Jack Layton at the federal level. The leader of the students could be Leo Bureau-Blouin. Stay tuned!

The author Michèle Bazin and her new novel ...

The author Michèle Bazin published a novel in which one could make a link with the student crisis and the questioning of the new generation.
Her book is inspired by the story of some young women trying to rebuild their lives. The narrative is based largely on prostitution but what stands out most is the deep desire for freedom and the youth difficult relationships with their parents. Presumably, students on strike, beyond the nobility of their claims for tuition, have the same questioning about their lives and their search for freedom as any individual. A universal question that often leads to dropping out and poor life choices, whether prostitution or other activities, legitimate or not. Decisions that will come back sometimes haunt people later in life if they are unlucky...
Michèle Bazin's novel is very well written and very readable and offer more to the readers than the life lessons it contains. The author should make a TV series!

Street Entertainers in Montreal...

Students take on the streets of Montreal but sometimes this occupation is the fun as with the street entertainers. The energy of the young artists of the street is overflowing and it shows especially the true talent of our youth.
The trio photographed here on St. Catherine Street Saturday afternoon (13 May 2012 - 5 pm) before the movie theater at Metcalfe corner, was where few days earlier protesters had occupied the streets more violently.
The crowd on Saturday, however, was more confident and it appreciated the great demonstration!
LONG LIVE TO THE STREET ENTERTAINERS!
