Pope Francis' homily at the Mass celebrated at St. Anne's Basilica on Thursday, July 28, 2022, was on the Gospel of St. Luke, Chap 24, V 18-35 (the two disciples of Emmaus).
One might think that the Pope is closer to the ideology of a Norman Vincent Peale than that of the traditional Catholic Church.
Pope Francis encourages a positive outlook on the future despite failures, obstacles and persecution.
Personally, I immediately thought of the Democrats' persecution of Donald Trump since 2016; and Jean Charest's difficulties against Pierre Poilièvre...
In the end, Pope Francis did not directly address the residential school issue...
