Author Denis Monette is one of the Quebecers who has sold the most books in his career, nearly a million copies with some forty novels. Monette is a journalist by training and was the first to travel to Hollywood in 1980 to write in French about American film stars. Upon his return to Quebec in 1990, he decided to write books in a popular novel style.
His new book just published: "PARDONNEZ-NOUS, SEIGNEUR" is a chronicle of the life of a Laval couple from their first encounter in youth until their death in old age.
Denis Monette's style is easy to read, but above all he conveys the emotion of his characters as if they were members of our close family. We recognize ourselves in the author's novels.
If there is a conclusion to Monette's new novel it is that life passes quickly, too quickly, and that it should makes us to recognize happiness when it is present in our lives.
