I love the quiet of solitude and the sound of the sea. I also like to read in the shade on the beach. 

My actual book is THE DEMON OF UNREST by Erik Larson. 

If you think American politics is polarized and violent in 2024, you need to read about the Presidential Campaign of 1860-1861 when Abraham Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery... 

The U.S. Civil War occurred from 1861 to 1865. It began when Confederate forces attacked Fort Sumter on April 12, 1861, and ended with the surrender of Confederate forces in 1865. The war resulted in an estimated 750,000 soldier deaths, making it the deadliest conflict in American history. The total US population in 1860 was 31 million.

If it were just Donald in the race, Kamala would have a chance, but there's the unknown element of J.D. Vance. 
Rumor has it that Trump has chosen J.D. to ensure his succession (his political will), either to replace him during his term in case of an accident or preferably in 2028 and 2032 ( 12 years in total of Republican power)... 
We'll have to wait and see, but one thing is certain: J.D. is a lucky man. 
I once knew a business leader who told me that when he hired a new executive, the first question he asked was, "Are you lucky in life?" If someone is always unlucky in life, that's a bad sign, and you don't want that in your company.... 
Luck depends on character, hence the question: "Are you lucky?". This is an indirect way for a boss to ask a candidate about his or her character in the face of life and obstacles. 
J.D. Vance is a lucky man and, in my opinion, he will make all the difference with Donald Trump... 
J.D.'s wife, Usha Vance, is nothing to sneeze at in fighting the odds to win. You must see the film HILLBILLY ELEGY on NETFLIX. A biographical film about J.D.'s origins, including his wife, but above all a very inspiring film on a human level. One scene in the film is about traveling the highway in the car with a cell phone conversation between J.D. and his girlfriend all night long to keep him awake. That's love and that's what makes me think she's somehow one of the keys to J.D.'s "luck". 
We'll have to wait and see, but I'll be a deeply happy and fulfilled man if Donald wins on November 5. But, as nothing in life is certain, we'll have to wait and see...

The new nickname for the presumptive nominee of the US Democratic Party, Kamala Harris, is "LAFFIN KAMALA". 
The Quebec media are comparing her to Montreal mayor Valérie Plante, while elsewhere in the world, people are comparing her to the "JOKER" of the Batman fiction series. 
We'll have to see what happens next, but many observers are already saying that her party has made her the « SACRIFIED LAMB" because her chances of victory are slim.
