THE ART OF CONSTRUCTION

By Bernard Bujold -
A friend, in one of my former life, recently invited me to visit the Penthouse of a building for which he is the developer. I gladly accepted because I love to admire the beautiful scenery and beautiful apartments!
However, I had to put a hold on my passion because I soon found, once there, his invitation was for a visit of a penthouse on construction (concrete slabs ...). Probably my favorite candidate for the US Presidency, Donald would have enjoyed the visit, since he knows and love the field of construction, but in my case, I would have preferred the penthouse in its habitable state... Coffee, however, was delicious and the view of the city beautiful and unique.

MONTREAL MUSEUM DAY 2016

By Bernard Bujold -
I love visiting the museums to enjoy classical art. I also often visit churches for the same reason...
For some reason, I had not yet visited the exhibition POMPEII presented by THE MONTREAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS. So I took avantage of the 2016 Montreal Museum Day to visit Pompeii. As always, the exhibition is organized like clockwork and everything is perfect as the Museum of Fine Arts is one of the best museums in the world for the quality of its exhibitions.
However, personally, I do not consider this exhibition, even beautiful, my favorite show to life as the story of Pompeii remember me too much the events of World Trade Center in New York in 2001.
Moreover, an anecdote happened to me when I visited Pompeii, which demonstrates that today art has changed and it has become difficult to define what is a work of art. While I placed. temporarily, my shirt on a museum circulation pole to allow me to relax a minute, people stopped in front of my shirt thinking that it was a work on exhibition...

STEVE MCCURRY AND THE GIRL

By Bernard Bujold -
Montreal Art Gallery GOT is presenting a unique exhibition of pictures by STEVE MCMURRY (born in 1950), the widely known US Photographer.
McCurry career was launched in 1984 when, disguised in native garb, he crossed the Pakistan border into rebel-controlled areas of Afghanistan just before the Soviet invasion. When he emerged, he had rolls of film sewn into his clothes. Those images, which were published around the world, were among the first to show the conflict.
The picture of the "Afghan girl" is considered a classic in modern photography. McCurry took the portrait of "Afghan Girl" in a refugee camp near Peshawar, Pakistan. The shooting lasted for only about 2 minutes and he took about 10 to 15 pictures. One of the image was however published in the National Geographic magazine and the girl face became famous as the cover photograph on the June 1985 issue. The identity of the girl remained unknown for over 17 years until 2002 when McCurry and a National Geographic team located the woman, Sharbat Gula. McCurry was a bit sad to see her old and tired but he said, “Her skin was weathered; there were wrinkles but she was as striking as she was all those years ago in my souvenir."
McCurry is a master in photography on film as digital but he considers that digital is a positive development for this medium. Now photographers can see and correct their images directly in the action on the spot. He prefers Nikon equipment for himself but he admit that today all cameras name (Canon, Leica, Sony, etc) are very good and even iPhone is terrific. The quality of the picture by phone is as good as the old SLR cameras of the 80.
McCurry is not doing journalist photography anymore and he prefers fashion and special projects. Eastman Kodak let him shoot the last ever produced roll of Kodachrome transparency film, which was processed in July 2010 and it is kept at the George Eastman House.
The exhibition in Montreal at GOT Gallery is until June 30 at 50 St-Paul West.

DONALD TRUMP AND HIS FUTURE...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Not many pundits or journalists believed in Donald Trump possibilities of success back in June 2015.
I was one of the rare believers but it was only my gut feeling because I read his book THE ART OF THE DEAL and I knew that his philosophy is all about to win and is similar to all those other positive thinkers. There is a special way to be successful in life and the positive thinking is one way to achieve success.
But some serious experts in US politics were also believers because of the political situation in United States.. One of them, Norman Ornstein, is a political scientist at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank in Washington, D.C. Back in August, 2015, when Donald Trump’s candidacy was widely viewed as a joke, Mr. Ornstein published a piece arguing that Mr. Trump could win the Republican nomination. Mr. Ornstein spoke about the roots of the Trump phenomenon and the future of DONALD TRUMP.

THE GOOD WIFE - LAST EPISODE

BY BERNARD BUJOLD (LeStudio1.com)
After an acclaimed seven-year run, “The Good Wife” comes to an end this Sunday, May 8 at 9 PM (CBS and Global).
“The Good Wife”,  initially inspired by the spectacle of "stand-by-your-man" news conferences like those involving Silda Wall Spitzer (married to the disgraced governor of New York), traced the professional and personal life of Alicia Florrick: the mother, the wife and the very respected and very tough lawyer.
In a way, this last episode was also a salute to Mother's Day 2016...
This last episode of THE GOOD WIFE, the best TV series about lawyers and politics, could not has been better.
The 7 years series ended as he began: with a slap in the face... and a new life beginning for every characters on the show. The return of the dead character Will Gardner in the last episode, the true love of Alicia, was very interesting and tell a lot about human life. "The dead are never really gone, except in the reality of day to day life, but they are eternal in the spirit. "
The series will not come back next year but it could has, as all the action for another season is there! . The TV series THE GOOD WIFE is dead but her souvenir is still living and it will be eternal...

THE KENTUCKY DERBY 2016

BY BERNARD BUJOLD - (LeStudio1.com)
The horse NYQUEST was the favorite and he ran as expected to be the winner of The Kentucky Derby 2016 on Saturday May 7.
I was not at the track but I was watching on television...
I love horses very much so I picked a horse before the race for the fun of it, the number 8 - LANI. It's a Japanese horse (owner). His name is a Hawaiian word which means “sky" Why did I bet on him to win? The odds were 30-1... I only chose it because he is pale (grey) like my other horse in politics, Donald who is blond... But color do not always means victory and my pick finished way behind!
The winner of the Kentucky Derby 2016 is Nyquest (Number 13).
To be continued on Saturday, May 21st with the PREAKNESS and the final race at the BELMONT STAKES in Hempstead which will be held on Saturday, June 11, near Donald Trump home in New York City...

THE JOURNALISTS AND THE WORLD OF POLITICS

BY BERNARD BUJOLD (LeStudio1.com) -
Every election cycle brings questionable news coverage. But the seasons 2015-2016 has been truly spectacular in its total failings by the journalists covering politics. In Canada with Justin Trudeau; in Quebec with Pierre Karl Péladeau; and more important in United States with Donald Trump.
Why the media read the situation wrong?
One consolation, I read the situation correctly in all three: Trudeau, PKP and Trump but I am retired and out from the action!

DONALD TRUMP - THE WINNER

BY BERNARD BUJOLD (LeStudio1)
Donald Trump has taken the first step to become the next president of the United States by becoming the official candidate of the Republican Party following the abandonment of Ted Cruz after the victory of Trump in Indiana. Donald Trump can now enjoy the time remaining before November to combat the Democratic Party and particularly Hillary Clinton.
Personally, I predicted the victory of Trump for the nomination of the Republican Party since last June 2015 and I obviously predicting now his victory as future president.
I was also very proud for my morning walk, to wear my cap MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN...
Congratulations Donald Trump!
