HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNE 2015 - HOW TO LIVE...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The greatest richness of life, if not the only, is the youth, no doubt about that statement.
But for other ages if we have 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 or 80 years?
We must accept the reality and above all, always make the most of life and his journey!
Of course sometimes you leave the lake and watch from the beach... or exchange the fast racing bike for a country one and go walking on quieter trails!
The reality is that life is not a right but a privilege and that, as much for a young person of 20 years as for an person advanced in age. It is therefore important to enjoy, to love and live fully each of the now moments of our lives. In other words: "... always love what you are doing ..." The importance should be given to each activity that we accomplish rather than to grant it to outcomes, which perhaps will never realize... Do not aim the reward but enjoy the present! Not easy, but it is possible and it is the key to happiness...
All that to say that this weekend (Sunday June 28) it's my birthday! I will take the opportunity to enjoy my favorite meal: a delicious Big Mac from McDonald's .. and watch the ducks on the lake!
And as life lasts only for one song... I wish myself a happy summer 2015 and especially "happy birthday!"

QUEBEC NATIONAL DAY - JUNE 24, 2015

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) -
For me, in my soul, the symbol of Quebec has always been, and always will be, the Gaspé Peninsula and in particular the spectacular Rock of Percé!
The magic of the sea of my childhood and the beauty of the nature of the place will never be replaced in my memory...
Quebec have a nice National Day!

MARCEL BRISEBOIS - ARREST FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Marcel Brisebois was a pillar of Quebec's cultural community, a friend and political confidant of René Lévesque, a host and journalist renowned for several years at Radio-Canada and the main creator of the Contemporary Art Museum of Montreal.
We just learned that he was arrested Tuesday morning by police for sexual assault on a minor (Tuesday, June 23, 2015). The evidence against him reportedly occurred between 1960 and 1980 on the alleged victim who can not be identified because he was underage at the time, said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Marcel Brisebois is 81 years old!
Other charges could follow in the coming days...

THE POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The story of Brian Williams (NBC) is much like that of Joel Legendre and François Bugingo.
In the case of Williams, American soldiers had contacted NBC in 2003 to say that Williams did not tell the whole truth in his reports on the war. NBC did not respond...
In 2015, thinking to promote their star Williams, NBC released a video recounting the exploits of their star anchorman. That was the end of Brian Williams when the same soldiers who had complained in 2003 commented virally on social media unveiling the lies of network television presenter.
When social media did not exist, the mainstream media, governments and other institutions were fortresses and their respective stars were untouchables! But with social media, it is the public that has become the master and judge for the truth.

ENCYCLICAL JUNE 2015 - POPE FRANCIS

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Pope Francis believes in God but he also believes in science and his new encyclical he has just published encourages political leaders around the world to better protect the environment. It also invites the rich to share their wealth because the resources of the earth should be accessible to all humans.
A text that bears reflection but also takes an active presence in the environmental issues of the day.

GILLES DUCEPPE IS BACK ...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The return of Gilles Duceppe in politics was coordinated by Bernard Landry who negotiated the return while Pierre Karl Péladeau accepted the proposed strategy including meeting Gilles Duceppe in person to accept and confirm the details.
Gilles Duceppe will be the new co-War General in the campaign for Quebec sovereignty siding with Pierre Karl Péladeau. Duceppe will be in Ottawa and PKP in the National Assembly, so of course if each of the two win the election with their respective party. Observers say of them that they are the hopes of last resort in the Quebec revolution against Ottawa.
The new Gilles Duceppe at press conference has not really changed from the old, except that he may look a little rejuvenated visually... Duceppe gives the look of a man about 60 years old while he will be 68 years on next July 22. Stephen Harper is 55 years old; Thomas Mulcair will be 61 years on October 24; and Justin Trudeau is 43 years old.
But if the look and speech of Duceppe did not change, the political map may be greatly transformed for Thomas Mulcair and Justin Trudeau, and of course for Stephen Harper who is favored. A three-horse race has now become a race of four! And worse for Thomas Mulcair, losing even just a dozen ridings in Quebec to the Bloc could mean forgetting a minority government to be a mere Opposition, or worse the Second Opposition behind Justin Trudeau.
And of course this scenario assumes that Gilles Duceppe will not get good results in the field. To resume the sport comparison by Duceppe during his press conference: "... An election campaign is like a football game! Everything is possible..."
Fall is going to be an exciting season to watch on the politics side!
To be continued...

AMERICAN PHAROAH - TRIPLE CROWN 2015

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
The horse champion AMERICAN PHAROAH wrote a new page of history by winning the Belmont Stakes race Saturday, June 6, 2015 and earning the title of the Triple Crown, a first since 1978!
American Pharoah had previously won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness.
A horse is an extraordinary animal offering  generosity, faithfulness, elegance, strength, and much more!
Personally, I was directly involved with horses in the past and it was a very memorable and happy period of my life.
I am very proud to have been able to live a new historical moment involving horses on this Saturday of June 6, 2015...
Congratulations to American Pharoah!

FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DU CANADA

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Do not look for me at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in 2015!
To quote one of my friends: "... The racing is for those born after 1945 ..."
Too much noise, too much sun (or rain ...), too many people who want to enter the site at the same time (or out), too many energy drinks sellers, too inaccessible, too much of everything...
I ventured to take a walk on Crescent Street but I stopped at the Museum...
Of course, the crowd in the Grand Prix is among the most exciting and most beautiful of all but hey, there is also a kind crowd at the Museum...
Have a nice Grand Prix everyone!

COFFEE DISCUSSIONS ...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1)-
Discussions around a coffee can sometimes take a particular turn.
So, here my last one "... what body or person would I rather be other than myself?..."
Personally, I'm pretty happy with myself and as I'm not very physical, my body satisfies me... I of course regret a couple things in my life but because of bad choices, not because of me as a person.
But for the fun of the coffee discussion, I thought about it and my choice was on Anderson Cooper. If I could choose another character that I want to be on earth, it would be the latter. And you, who would you rather be instead of yourself if you had the choice?
Good coffee and good conversation...

HOTEL ST-JAMES MONTREAL SOLD ...

By Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1) -
Lucien Rémillard managed another good move by selling Hotel Le St-James in Montreal for 24 million$ to property developer Vincent Chiara who for its part signed a long term lease for the restaurant and the hotel with the KEG Restaurant owner David Aisenstat of Vancouver. Remillard had purchased the building (a former bank) for $ 2 million in 1999 and he had converted it to boutique hotel with the help of his wife at the time.
The hotel was more or less anonymous among the other small boutique hotels in Old Montreal until the day the Rolling Stones had wanted to rent an entire floor of the famous Ritz for their visit to Montreal. The Ritz had refused, saying he had no room because of renovations and had rather suggested to address a small fledgling boutique hotel located in Old Montreal, St. James. Remillard had seized the opportunity and offered his whole hotel to the English group.
The hotel legend then took birth and the rest is history...

THE SUMMER OF 2015

BY BERNARD BUJOLD (LESTUDIO1) -
The summer season 2015 will arrive in the city on 21 June. But in reality, the summer season has already begun long before!
For me the summer, it is the horse racing for the American Triple Crown; the Roland Garros tennis tournament; F1 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal; lunch on the lake.
For me, the end of June with the National Day of Quebecers and a few days later on July 1, Canada Day, rather mark the end of all significant activities of the summer season...
Therefore, I wish to you all a 'Beautiful summer season 2015 ", right now!
