POLITICAL SURVEYS -
By Bernard Bujold- -
Many of my friends are trying to convince me that Pablo Rodriguez's political future is over and that Paul Saint-Pierre Plamondon will be Quebec's next premier...
I disagree, and my only argument is the one involving Pierre Poilièvre! At Christmas last year (December 24, 2024) Poilièvre was leading the polls at 44% to Justin Trudeau's Liberals' 26%. On April 28, 2025 (4 months later in the spring), Mark Carney became Liberal Prime Minister with 43.7% of the vote (170 seats) against 41.3% for the Conservatives, and Pierre Poilievre, who saw himself as Prime Minister at Christmas, had lost his seat as an MP... This is why, in my opinion, in 2026, everything is unpredictable when it comes to the October 5 election result in Quebec.
A political situation can change radically in just a few weeks and, for that reason, I don't believe that Pablo's career is over any more than I'm convinced that Paul Saint Pierre Plamondon is assured of victory. At the end of the day, even François Legault could win the election if something were to happen. Pierre Poilièvre is living proof of my reasoning!
Stay tuned!
