One of the memories of the late spring of 2023 will be of the forest fires on Quebec's North Shore, particularly around Sept-Îles. Personally, I've always had a feeling of affection for this region, as it's where I began my adult life. I particularly remember the magnificent natural setting, where forest meets incredible beaches. I even concluded at the time that the Côte-Nord had more beautiful beaches than Gaspésie...
