CHANGING THE WORLD IN 2019

CHANGING THE WORLD IN 2019 -
By Bernard Bujold-
Friday, March 15 will be considered as the #ClimateSrike Day around the world. A kind of joint demonstration by young teenagers who want to change the world in terms of climate and who demonstrate on the streets rather than in the classroom.
Will the process achieve its goal?
Changing the world is not easy and of the millions of people who dream of doing so, only about ten people or so succeed in achieving this goal during their lifetime. I am thinking here of a Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, or more recently a René Angélil. Others have made remarkable efforts but unfortunately failed in the end, such as René Lévesque.
Personally, I dreamed of changing the world 5 or 6 times. I never changed "THE" world but I changed "MY" world...
The effort of the young people with the #ClimateStrike project is commendable, as was the one of the RED SQUARE. But in the case of the Red Squares, we cannot say that the world has changed...
Life is a journey and I continually repeat Shakespeare's phrase from his tragedy Julius Ceasar to those around me: "There is a tide in the affairs of men. Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries..."
