THE ACADIANS AND 2021...

None of my Acadian friends have found the answer to my riddle...
The story of Evangeline and Acadia as told by Longfellow has a direct link to our time.
What is it?
It is well written at the end of Longfellow's poem Evangeline and very well described in the historical texts of the Université de Moncton
After the deportation, Evangeline became a nun caring for the sick, and she reunited with her Gabriel in Louisiana, in a hospice for the feverishly dying, a victim of the yellow fever crisis almost 40 years after the deportation of 1755. The yellow fever epidemic of 1793 is comparable to the Coronavirus of 2020-2021.
It is said that history repeats itself and this is particularly true of the Acadian era during the period 1604 to 1763 which bears a striking resemblance to our modern politics of 2021 and in particular that of the United States with all its polarization, violence, racism and uncertainty.

The file of violence against the natives people of Quebec is only getting worse...
Indeed, three other Atikamekw women denounce mistreatment received at the Joliette hospital!
We can predict that the wave of denunciation will continue to spread.
The danger in this file is that it is polarized and if there are people who are deeply shocked by the actions towards the Aboriginals, other people try to defend the actions and explain them as acceptable.

THE GOOD LIFE... in 2021

When I told a friend that I missed the good old days, he answered that I would survive to it!
Can we survive the end of a beautiful period of our life?
Yes, we survive and move on, but the good times are over.
For me the good times with a Serge Losique and his World Film Festival; the helicopter trips with a Pierre Péladeau; the walks in the streets of Ottawa near the Parliament with a Brian Mulroney under the morning autumn sun; the good times with a Julie Depardieu; and the 4 years of watching a Donald Trump.
Yes, we survive but life becomes something else... and the beautiful periods of life mere memories!
Happy spring 2021, despite the Coronavirus!

No side effects, except for a small feeling like aging...
The good Druid's helper was very kind but her boss is not a hurry guy because he will only offer me my second dose of "potion" on next July 6th...

LOOKING AHEAD

No one can predict when the curfew or the coronavirus will stop crippling society, but we do know one thing for sure: all of our current government leaders were elected before the virus crisis and all are up for election in the next few months.
The first in line is theoretically Valérie Plante, but Justin Trudeau could overtake her in the spring of this year.
François Legault is in office until October 2022.
For these three elections, it is better to be prepared and start thinking now about who we will vote for!
Voting is the only freedom we have left...
Personally, I can't wait for 2024 but it's far away and I don't have the right to vote...

WOMEN'S DAY 2021
It is today Monday March 8, 2021 the Women’s Day.
One could say that Meghan stole the show with her interview on the Sunday night Oprah special on CBS.
The interview was not only about Meghan but, for me, more about Elizabeth the Queen and her resilience as well as the great talent of Oprah to create interest around her TV productions.
Concerning Harry and Meghan, their story is a very fragile one.
My prediction is that the couple will be divorced in 5 years.
Have a nice Women’s Day all and to be continued for the rest of the story...

THE ART OF DYING IN 2021

It is not death that is worrisome or painful, but the way we die!
The Coronavirus crisis will have changed the way many people die.
Isolation and suffering alone in the face of the slow arrival of death is a hell that transforms the end of the world into a real tragedy.
Dying quickly is like turning off the light but dying slowly is something else...
